Walter Albert Knapp

His final rank as a Staff Sergeant 

Following his death, he was awarded the Purple Heart

- Awarded to those killed or wounded in action 

Daughter Mary  Jean Houlahan entered the Marine Corps and has now been a nurse for almost 40 years. 

- One grandson went to West Point and the other is currently a Top Gun Instructor.
