 The 83 infantry division landed in Omaha two weeks following D-Day attempting to enter France. 

Soldiers carried uniforms, various guns, and controlled tanks and aircraft

Knapp died on July 17 1944 and was killed by an 83 mm round from a Panzer tank.

Buried in Normandy, France at plot F, row 10, grave 6.

In basic training Knapp was a part of Company G, 13 Infantry in 1927
